THE CONTEXT

Catalysed by the State’s investment in a new metro station, the Waterloo State Significant Precinct is one of the largest urban regeneration projects in Sydney’s history, covering an area of more than 20 hectares of government-owned land in the Waterloo community in southern Sydney. 

THE WORK 

Since 2017, Urban Apostles has overseen urban strategy for the project, with a particular focus on innovation in retail, placemaking, sustainability, housing and design. To steer the design and stakeholder group, we devised an industry-leading set of principles and performance metrics for the planning, design, construction and operational stages of the project, which is anticipated to deliver 4500 new affordable, intermediate and market rate dwellings.
